  4. white play and win:may be the solution is;
    1.Kd7,ra7+
    2.Ke6,ra6+
    3.Ke5,ra5+
    4.Kf6,ra6+
    5.Kg5,ra5+
    6.Kg6,Ra6+
7.Rf6.......I hope that I did not make any blunder as I always do :D

  5. The main idea for black to hold the draw is to keep minimum 3 files -as a checking distance-between Black's Rook and White's pawn ..as follows:
    1... Ra8+
    2.Kd7 Ra7+
    and now if:
    3.Kd6 Ra6+
    4.Kc5 Re6 holds the draw
    and if :
    3.Kc7 Ra7+...etc
In the second diagram White wins as follows:
    1.Kd7 Ra7+
    2.Kd6 Ra6+
    3.Kc5 Ra8 (forced since 3.... Re6 loses to 4.Rf8+)
    4.Kc6 Kg7
    5.Ra1! Rb8
    6.Kc7 Re8
    7.Kd7 Kf7
    8.Rf1+ Kg7
    9.Kxe8 wins for white
There is another winning method ..could you figure it out ?
