Egyptian Crisis : The Late Legendary American Senator \Robert Kennedy Speech On The Assassination Of The Legendary \Martin Luther King


 وسط مأساة اغتيال القس الدكتور مارتن لوثر كينغ يوم الخميس ، 4 أبريل 1968 لحظة فارقة و غير عادية حدثت حيث قام روبرت كينيدى الشقيق الأصغر للرئيس الأمريكي الراحل جون كينيدى-و الذى أغتيل قبل 5 سنوات- بإذاعة نبأ إغتيال مارتن لوثر كينج أمام حشد كبير من الأميركيين الأفارقة في ذلك المساء في انديانابوليس بولاية انديانا .وكان التجمع في الواقع تجمع انتخابي مخطط لروبرت كينيدي في مسعاه للحصول على ترشيح الحزب الديمقراطي للرئاسة عام 1968 بعد وصول روبرت كينيدى بلحظات تم إعلامه بنبأ إغتيال كينج ونصح من قبل الشرطة المحلية بوقف الحملة التي كانت في جزء من المدينة تعتبر خطرة لكن كينيدي أصر على الذهاب وعند وصوله وجد  الناس في مزاج متفائل من توقع الإثارة عند ظهور كينيدي . ولقد تسلق على المنصة وتساءل عما إذا كان الحشد يعلم أو لا و عندما أدرك أنه لا يعلم بدأ فى مخاطبة الحشد قائلاً:  "السيدات والسادة -- انا ذاهب فقط لأن أتحدث إليكم فقط لمدة دقيقة او نحو ذلك هذا المساء.. لأن لدي بعض الأخبار المحزنة جدا لكم جميعا، وأعتقد أنه خبر حزين لجميع مواطنينا، والناس الذين يحبون السلام في جميع أنحاء العالم و هو أن مارتن لوثر كينغ قد اطلق عليه النار وقتل الليلة في مدينة ممفيس بولاية تينيسي 
مارتن لوثر كينغ كرس حياته على المحبة والعدالة بين بني البشر و لقد توفي بسبب جهده فى هذه القضية .  في هذا اليوم الصعب، و في هذا الوقت الصعب بالنسبة للولايات المتحدة، ربما أيضا أن نسأل من أي أمة نحن وماذا نريد و فى أي اتجاه نريد التحرك . لأولئك منكم الذين هم من السود النظر في الأدلة و التى من الواضح أن هناك أناس بيض  كانوا مسؤولين عن ذلك فيمكنكم أن تمتلئوا من المرارة، و بالكراهية، والرغبة في الانتقام .. يمكننا ان نتحرك في هذا الاتجاه كبلد، في زيادة الاستقطاب -السود بين السود والبيض بين البيض، ممتلئين بالكراهية تجاه بعضهم البعض .أو نستطيع أن تبذل جهدا،كما فعل مارتن لوثر كينغ للفهم والإستيعاب ، والاستعاضة عن ذلك العنف ، ووصمة العار من اراقة الدماء التي انتشرت في جميع أنحاء أرضنا، مع محاولة الفهم والتعاطف والمحبة .لأولئك منكم الذين هم من السود ويميلون لتكون نفوسهم مليئة بالكراهية وعدم الثقة من الإحساس بالظلم لمثل هذا الفعل ضد كل الناس البيض، وأود أن أقول فقط أنني يمكن أن أشعر أيضا في قلبى بنفس النوع من الشعور حيث إن فرداً من أفراد عائلتي قتل، لكنه قتل على يد رجل أبيض.ولكن علينا أن نبذل جهدا في الولايات المتحدة، علينا أن نبذل جهدا للفهم، لتجاوز هذه الأوقات الصعبة . إن شاعرى المفضل إسكلس كتب ذات مرة : "حتى في نومنا، والألم الذي لا يمكن نسيانه يقع قطرة قطرة على القلب، حتى فى يأسنا و ضد إرادتنا، تأتى حكمة ونعمة الله المهيبة " . ما نحتاج اليه في الولايات المتحدة ليست الفرقة؛ ما نحتاج إليه في الولايات المتحدة ليست الكراهية؛ ما نحتاج اليه في الولايات المتحدة ليس العنف والفوضى، ولكن هو الحب والحكمة، والرحمة تجاه بعضنا البعض ، والشعور بالعدل تجاه أولئك الذين ما زالوا يعانون من داخل بلدنا، سواء كانوا من البيض أو سواء كانوا من السود .لذا أطلب منكم الليلة العودة إلى دياركم، و أن تصلوا لعائلة مارتن لوثر كينغ، نعم هذا صحيح، ولكن الأهم أن تصلوا من اجل بلادنا، والتي نحبها جميعاً -- صلاة من اجل التفاهم والرحمة عن الأمورالتى تحدثت عنها .ويمكننا أن نفعل عملاً جيدا في هذا البلد. وسوف يكون لدينا أوقاتاً صعبة و لقد كان لدينا أوقات صعبة في الماضي وسوف يكون لدينا اوقات صعبة في المستقبل. انها ليست نهاية العنف، وليست نهاية الفوضى، وانها ليست نهاية الإضطراب و لكن الغالبية العظمى من الناس البيض والغالبية العظمى من السود في هذا البلد يريدون العيش معا ، وترغب في تحسين نوعية حياتنا، ونريد العدالة لجميع البشر أن تبقى في أرضنا . دعونا نكرس انفسنا لما كتب الإغريق منذ سنوات عديدة : لترويض وحشية الإنسان في هذا العالم و جعل الحياة ألطف فى هذا العالم .. دعونا نكرس انفسنا لذلك ، ونصلى من اجل بلدنا وشعبنا. شكرا كثيرا جدا".روبرت كينيدي -- 4 أبريل  1968

Egyptian Crisis : A Message Of Peace And Wisdom From The Late Legendary American Senator \Robert Kennedy

 Amid the tragedy of the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King on Thursday, April 4th, 1968, an extraordinary moment in American political history occurred as Robert F. Kennedy, younger brother of slain President John F. Kennedy, broke the news of King's death to a large gathering of African Americans that evening in Indianapolis, Indiana.The gathering was actually a planned campaign rally for Robert Kennedy in his bid to get the 1968 Democratic nomination for president. Just after he arrived by plane at Indianapolis, Kennedy was told of King's death. He was advised by local police against making the campaign stop which was in a part of the city considered to be a dangerous ghetto. But Kennedy insisted on going.He arrived to find the people in an upbeat mood, anticipating the excitement of a Kennedy appearance. He climbed onto the platform and inquired as to whether or not the crowd knew – and then, realizing they did not know, he spoke:
"Ladies and Gentlemen - I'm only going to talk to you just for a minute or so this evening. Because...I have some very sad news for all of you, and I think sad news for all of our fellow citizens, and people who love peace all over the world, and that is that Martin Luther King was shot and was killed tonight in Memphis, Tennessee.
Martin Luther King dedicated his life to love and to justice between fellow human beings. He died in the cause of that effort. In this difficult day, in this difficult time for the United States, it's perhaps well to ask what kind of a nation we are and what direction we want to move in.
For those of you who are black - considering the evidence evidently is that there were white people who were responsible - you can be filled with bitterness, and with hatred, and a desire for revenge.
We can move in that direction as a country, in greater polarization - black people amongst blacks, and white amongst whites, filled with hatred toward one another. Or we can make an effort, as Martin Luther King did, to understand and to comprehend, and replace that violence, that stain of bloodshed that has spread across our land, with an effort to understand, compassion and love.
For those of you who are black and are tempted to be filled with hatred and mistrust of the injustice of such an act, against all white people, I would only say that I can also feel in my own heart the same kind of feeling. I had a member of my family killed, but he was killed by a white man.
But we have to make an effort in the United States, we have to make an effort to understand, to get beyond these rather difficult times.
My favorite poet was Aeschylus. He once wrote: "Even in our sleep, pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God."
What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence and lawlessness, but is love and wisdom, and compassion toward one another, and a feeling of justice toward those who still suffer within our country, whether they be white or whether they be black. (Interrupted by applause)
So I ask you tonight to return home, to say a prayer for the family of Martin Luther King, yeah that's true, but more importantly to say a prayer for our own country, which all of us love - a prayer for understanding and that compassion of which I spoke. We can do well in this country. We will have difficult times. We've had difficult times in the past. And we will have difficult times in the future. It is not the end of violence; it is not the end of lawlessness; and it's not the end of disorder.
But the vast majority of white people and the vast majority of black people in this country want to live together, want to improve the quality of our life, and want justice for all human beings that abide in our land. (Interrupted by applause)
Let us dedicate ourselves to what the Greeks wrote so many years ago: to tame the savageness of man and make gentle the life of this world.Let us dedicate ourselves to that, and say a prayer for our country and for our people. Thank you very much. "(Applause)

EGYPTIAN CRISIS – INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING By www.chesscampeona.com

"Our website does not only focus on chess news but also on any current events that shape our world. This last week Egypt entered into a historic facet of its history as protestors erupted in three major cities: Cairo, Alexandria and Suez. We decided to contact through FACEBOOK and TWITTER people who live within Egypt to ask them several questions concerning the crisis.

The official policy of our website is NOT to chose sides with the Anti or Pro Mubarak factions, we are simply reporting what everyday Egyptians are living, feeling, thinking and expressing.
Since the Internet in Egypt was turned off we could not assemble this interview earlier. We contacted Medhat Moheb through Facebook, he is a resident of Alexandria in order to ask his opinion on the crisis within his country. 

1. Can you explain to our readers what the protests are about in Egypt?

About the necessity of political reforms; achieving complete democracy ;and the amendment of some articles of the constitution taking anti corruption measures ; and also to dissolve the parliament and their main demand is to remove the current regime.

2. What do the protestors hope to accomplish with this protests?

The same answer to q.1

3. How are conditions inside of Egypt?

Significant economic losses, the absence of security.

4. Are schools, markets, banks open? Are people going to work?

Markets are only open for specific hours after the curfew .Most people do not go to work.

5. How did the protests in Egypt start?

It stared by the advocacy by young Egyptian youth via the internet (facebook and twitter ) who are members of some political youth movements such as: the 6th of April ,25th of January and was supported by some political parties ..

6. What would you like President Obama to handle this situation?

As a sincere patriot and a lover of the soil of my homeland ...I just can not accept any external interference.

7. Several countries are evacuating the citizens out of Egypt, is this necessary?

Many countries took measures to guarantee the safety of their citizens which I presume normal in such conditions.

8. What would you like for our readers to know about the Protestor's cause?

At the moment there are anti Mubarak protesters who demand the removal of the regime now and pro Mubarak protesters who demand that PresidentMubarak should complete his presidential term (which lasts for few months) and accept his decisions :the appointment of vice president ;and change of the government and that he will not run for another term and the necessity of the acceptance of judicial appeals (of the candidates of the last parliament elections) to quickly modify the constitution and also to respect his wish to supervise the process of peaceful transition of power in Egypt and finally respect his wish to live and die on the soil of Egypt.
