Chess Endgame Technique !

In chess the endgame (or end game or ending) refers to the stage of the game when there are few pieces left on the board. Endgames can be divided into three categories:
  1. Theoretical endgames – positions where the correct line of play is generally known and well-analyzed, so the solution is a matter of technique
  2. Practical endgames – positions arising in actual games, where skillful play should transform it into a theoretical endgame position
  3. Artistic endgames (studies) – contrived positions which contain a theoretical endgame hidden by problematic complications
In the diagrammed position white plays and wins by force .How ?

We Are All Japanese !

An 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit off the east coast of Japan on 11\3\2011. The quake -- one of the largest in recorded history -- triggered a 23-foot tsunami that battered Japan's coast, killing and injuring thousands and sweeping away cars, homes, buildings, and boats. The situation in Japan remains a concern. All eyes are on the plant in Fukushima, where multiple reactors are already out of control and fight against time to cool and prevent a nuclear catastrophe. In addition, the Government has warned Japan the risk of a blackout which could occur  due to electricity supply problems. The level of radiation around the plant, is 3,000 microsievert per hour, compared to 1,000 microsievert a year that are safe for human health.
Japan has donated and helped many countries during catastrophes and disasters ..It is time to reciprocate: Kindly if you wish you may donate directly to the Japanese Red Cross on their website :

I know that nothing I say or do can take away the pain ,the sorrow and the grieve .You are in my heart and in my prayers. May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead and may the comfort of God help you during this difficult time.God bless Japan and the Japanese people .

GM\ Alexander Kotov's Most Famous Chess Game : One Of The All-Time Greats Of sacrificial Chess

Alexander Alexandrovich Kotov (Алекса́ндр Алекса́ндрович Ко́тов; 12 August [O.S. 30 July] 1913 – 8 January 1981) was a Soviet chess grandmaster and author. He was a Soviet champion, a two-time world title Candidate, and a prolific chess author ...While best remembered today as an author, Kotov also had a number of good results as a player. One of his best early results was his second place finish in the 1939 USSR Championship, just missing out to Mikhail Botvinnik in the final round. This result won him the Soviet Grandmaster title, the third Soviet player to hold the title after Botvinnik and Grigory Levenfish. Kotov was Moscow champion in 1941. He won the Soviet title jointly with David Bronstein in 1948, and won at Venice in 1950, ahead of Vasily Smyslov...Kotov developed a sharp style, was definitely not afraid of complications on the chessboard, and willingly entered into them against even the greatest of opponents. He favoured the closed openings with White, and was a terror with the Sicilian Defence as Black.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Kotov)
During the 1953 Candidates Tournament in Zurich GM \Kotov faced -with the black pieces-GM \Averbach in a game that will become world wide famous as described in the book: "Winning Chess Tactics" by GM \Yasser Seirawan that "It has what is considered one of the world's most beautiful combinations".
