The Candidates Final Match In Kazan : GM\Gelfand Beats GM\Grischuk To Challenge World Chess Champion GM\Anand For The Title In 2012 !

The FIDE Candidates matches are being held in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, From 3 to 27 May 2011with eight super GMs competing to qualify as Challenger for the 2012 World Champion match against GM\Vishi Anand for the world chess crown. The prize fund of the candidates is 500,000 Euros .
GM\Gelfand went finally for 1.d4 and surprisingly GM.Grischuk responded with the Grunfeld {it was a
Neo-Grunfeld, 5.Nf3 (D73}I believe this was the influence of GM\Svidler -who is the second of GM\Grischuk in this match- but I think that in such a critical encounter GM\Grischuk should have played a defense he is familiar to such as the Nimzo Indian or the King's Indian .I believe that Black's fatal mistake was not the move 20... Bxh4 ?! but was not playing the most appropriate line of defense .GM\Gelfand pressed hard with his pawns in the center and was able to neutralize Black's counter-attack in the king-side (16... Ra5 then followed by 17...Rh5) .Move by move Gelfand got closer to win and in a completely lost position Grischuk congratulated the new challenger who deservedly won the match .
