Super GM\Magnus Carlsen Won The 6th Tal Memorial On Tiebreaks

Super GM\Magnus Carlsen won the 6th Tal memorial, a category 22 and with an average rating of 2776 Elo thus to be considered one of the strongest tournaments in chess history with a total fund of 100000 € -the first prize is 30000 € .The tournament was a 10 player round robin event, and took place in Moscow, Russia from 16th-25th of November .The time control is 40 moves in 100 minutes, followed by 20 moves in 50 minutes, then 15 minutes to finish, with a 30 second increment from the start of the game.The general sponsor of the tournament was OAO (Gasprom) .GM\Levon Aronian came in the second place while GM\Ivanchuk came third , while GM\Krajakin and GM\ Nepomniachtchi came in the 4th and 5th places respectively .

Chess Super Star And World's No. 1 Player GM\Magnus Carlsen Has Deservedly Won The 2nd London Chess Classic and 50,000 Euros First Prize

Magnus Carlsen clinched first place and the 50,000 euros first prize in the 2010 London Chess Classic at Olympia on Wednesday with a consummate positional win against England’s Nigel Short. Theirs was the second game to finish but the tie-break ensured that Magnus would take first regardless of other results. Vishy Anand and Vlad Kramnik drew their game and the two results should also see Magnus Carlsen Carlsen reclaim his place at the top of the official rating list in January 2011. His mentor Garry Kasparov was present at the venue to comment on the games of the final round and see his protégé win the tournament for the second successive year...Final Scores: 1st Magnus Carlsen 13/21, 2-3rd Vishy Anand, Luke McShane 11, 4th Hikaru Nakamura 10, 5th Vladimir Kramnik 10, 6th Mickey Adams 8, 7th David Howell 4, 8th Nigel Short 2.  The VI World Blitz Championship 2010 which took place in Moscow ,Russia from 16th-18th November 2010 has ended with a huge success .Top elite and Super chess Grandmaster\Levon Aronian -who is considered one of the best chess players in the world-has deservedly won the tournament with a score of 24.5/38 points as he clinched the title with a round to spare.GM\Temour Radjabov won the silver medal with 24 points and further half point clear of defending champion GM\Magnus Carlsen.
